1. How does exiting with the Gaiyo Card at a P+R work?
At P+R locations with license plate recognition, follow these steps:
- License plate recognition
- When you exit, your license plate will be recognized automatically.
- The system will display the price to be paid on the exit terminal.
- NS travel check (public transport chip card reader)
- Hold your Gaiyo Card against the public transport chip card reader (*1 in the image).
- The system checks whether you have traveled with NS, so that you are eligible for a possible price reduction.
- Payment (payment card slot)
- Insert or hold your Gaiyo Card near the slot for payment cards (*2 in the image).
- The amount will be charged to your Gaiyo Card.
- The barrier will open, and you can exit.
2. What do I use the Gaiyo Card for at P+R?
- First to check your NS travel entitlement (discount).
- Then to pay the parking fees.
3. What happens if the check fails?
If you have traveled with NS, press the help button and discuss it with the operator.
If it turns out that you have not traveled by NS, you will need to pay the full parking fee with a payment card.
In short: when leaving P+R, you present your Gaiyo Card twice: first at the OV-chipkaart reader for the discount check, and then in the payment slot to pay.
